What if I have never also used a Digital Planner before?

All you just need is an Ipad/Tablet, Apple pen/Stylus and a PDF annotation app e.g Goodnotes, Notabiltity etc.

And I've also included a step-by step guide too.

Can I use the Bundle on my phone, or do I need an iPad?

The Budget & Guest list spreadsheets are easiest to use on a laptop or desktop, though they still work on an iPad or phone.
